Make Your Own Baseball Bat (Ages 9-18)
This class offers the opportunity for your child to craft their very own baseball bat on the lathe. Students will have a choice between making an ash or maple bat. The class last around an hour two hours. All bats are branded with the AR logo!
Class Overview
1. Basic lathe safety
2. Learning to use a roughing gouge
3. Learning to scale from a template and transfer measurements to the blank using a parting tool
4. Learning to shape and make fine cuts using a spindle gouge.
5. Final steps are sanding and oiling the bat.
Safety equipment is provided. (face shields, dust mask, and eye protection)
